    What's the story

India and New Zealand will face off in their last Group A match of the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday, March 2.

The battle will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, both teams have already qualified for the semi-finals, making this match a battle for the top spot.

India, under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, and New Zealand, led by Mitchell Santner, have been dominant with wins over Bangladesh and Pakistan, respectively.

    Player highlights

Key players to watch in India-New Zealand clash

Virat Kohli will play his 300th ODI in this match.

He had celebrated his 200th ODI milestone with a century against New Zealand.

Kohli is currently India's second-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 122 runs, behind vice-captain Shubman Gill, who leads with 147 runs.

In the bowling department, Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana have taken five and four wickets, respectively, for India.

    Team performance

New Zealand's performance and weather forecast for match day

New Zealand's wicketkeeper batter Tom Latham tops their batting charts with 173 runs.

Rachin Ravindra and Will Young follow with 112 and 107 runs, respectively.

In the bowling department, Michael Bracewell and William O'Rourke have taken five wickets each for the side.

The weather in Dubai on Sunday is expected to be clear with warm temperatures around 25°C, making it perfect for cricket without rain interruptions.

    Pre-Match update

Pitch conditions and team fitness ahead of the match

The pitch at Dubai International Cricket Stadium isn't expected to be high-scoring, with spinners expected to play a big role.

New Zealand's pace attack could also trouble India's batsmen.

Daryl Mitchell has been declared fit for New Zealand's lineup, while minor fitness concerns surrounded Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

However, KL Rahul dismissed them in a recent press conference.

    India's journey

India clinch back-to-back wins to secure semifinal spot

The Men In Blue kicked off their campaign with a six-wicket win against Bangladesh.

The win was largely thanks to Shami's five-wicket haul combined with Gill's stellar ton.

Meanwhile, their second game, a high-stakes game against Pakistan, saw Kuldeep Yadav bag three scalps.

During the chase, Kohli smashed his 51st ODI ton, taking India to a six-wicket victory and securing a semifinal spot.

    NZ's tournament

A look the Kiwis' tournament so far

The Black Caps demolished Pakistan in their 2025 Champions Trophy opener by 60 runs.

Young and Latham starred with tons as NZ continued their form from the previously concluded tri-nation ODI series.

They then went on to defeat Bangladesh by five wickets and 23 balls remaining.

The win was fueled by Ravindra's maiden CT ton and Bracewell's four-wicket haul earlier in the game.
