#IndiaInAustralia: Five reasons why India can win the Test series

    What's the story

India and Australia face each other in a gruelling four-match Test series, which starts in Adelaide from December 6.

The visitors haven't able to dominate red-ball cricket, away from home, in 2018.

India lost 1-2 against South Africa, before being tamed 1-4 by the Three Lions.

But this time around, India are expected to do the job and win the series.

    We analyze why.

    Experience

Experience gained from SA, England tours will aid India

India put up a commendable shift in South Africa and might have won the series if not for their batting failures.

In England as well, they produced some fine moments, but lost the edge in crucial periods.

We expect them to learn from their mistakes and not lose close matches against Aussies.

India can clinch the vital moments by being more responsible.

    All-rounder

Ravindra Jadeja can prove to be a match-winner

Playing an in-form all-rounder could give India an edge over a depleted Aussies squad.

Hardik Pandya was inconsistent in South Africa and England, and this opens an opportunity for Ravindra Jadeja to seal a spot.

He was superb in the fifth Test against England and also chipped in against West Indies.

Jaddu can strengthen India's batting line-up. Further, Jadeja is an excellent fielder.

    Pace battery

Pacers to play a big role for India

The Indian pace attack thrived away from home in both South Africa and England.

And, one can draw heart from their consistent performances.

Against Proteas, the pace quartet took 47 wickets.

Further, Ishant Sharma & Co. were lethal against England, as well.

It will be safe to assume that India can pick 20 wickets in a match consistently, with the pacers at their disposal.

    King Kohli

Kohli's mastery with the bat can floor Aussies

Virat Kohli is enjoying the form of his life and can truly dominate the Aussies.

If others can bat around him, then expect India to post mammoth totals.

Kohli is the highest run-scorer in Tests in 2018.

He was also India's best batsman in SA and England.

And the last time he toured Australia in 2014-15, he amassed 692 runs that included four tons.

    Weak Batting

Aussies look weaker without Smith and Warner

Aussies look weakened due to the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner.

They have always been a thorn for most of the opponents.

This time around, Aussies don't have someone who can steady the ship.

Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh are the only experienced players, and barring them, the line-up looks weak.

Kohli will hope his bowlers can weave their magic against Aussies.
