    What's the story

    India A bagged the 2024 edition of the Duleep Trophy after beating India C at Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur.

    India A scored 297 in the first innings before bowling out their opposition for 234.

    In their 2nd innings, India A declared at 286/8. Sai Sudharsan's century wasn't enough for India C, who lost by 132 runs.

    India A finish above the pile

    India A collected 12 points from three matches, having claimed two wins and suffering one defeat.

    India A's NRR read +0.258. India C, who failed to force a draw on Day 4, finished 2nd, collecting nine points from three matches (NRR: -0.469).

    Meanwhile, India D, who defeated India B, finished last with six points (NRR: +0.323).

    India B managed 7 points (NRR: -0.205).

    Shashwat

    Shashwat Rawat shines with the bat 

    23-year-old Shashwat Rawat was on a roll this season.

    In the crucial clash against India C, Rawat scored 53 in the 2nd innings after managing 124 in the first.

    Before this match, he managed scores worth 14 and 64* to slam three successive fifty-plus scores.

    With 256 runs at 85.33, Rawat finished as the tournament's third-highest and India A's highest run-getter, as per ESPNcricinfo.

    Batters 

    Here are the other key batters

    Pratham Singh (122 vs IND-D) and Tilak Varma (111* vs IND-D) were India A's only other centurions this season besides Rawat.

    With 193 runs at 32.16, Riyan Parag finished as the team's second-highest run-scorer. No other batter from the side could manage even 150 runs.

    Pratham (146 at 36.50) and Tilak (145 at 48.33) trail Riyan in terms of run-scoring.

    Bowlers 

    A look at the star bowlers 

    Pacer Akash Deep (5/56 vs IND-B) was the only India A bowler to scalp a fifer.

    Off-spinner Tanush Kotian (4/73 vs IND-D) was the only other India A bowler to scalp at least four wickets in an innings.

    With 10 scalps at 22, he also finished as the team's highest wicket-taker and overall the joint-fifth highest.
