What's the story
Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka scored a quickfire fifty as the tourists clawed their way to a respectable total of 146 runs for the loss of five wickets in the first innings of the third T20I against India in Dharamsala.
Shanaka scored 74 runs off 38 balls. His knock was laced with nine fours and two sixes.
Meanwhile, Avesh Khan shined with the ball.
PP overs
India dominate the powerplay overs
The hosts dominated the PP overs as both Sri Lankan openers were sent back to the pavilion within the first two overs.
Mohammed Siraj gave India the first breakthrough by dismissing Danushka Gunathilaka for a golden duck in the first over.
Thereafter, Khan removed Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka from the attack.
Moreover, India leaked just 18 runs in the first six overs.

Khan shines on debut
Prior to the game, Khan received his debut cap from Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Khan had a dream debut with the ball on Sunday as he dismissed Nissanka from the attack in his very first over.
In his next over, he got rid of Asalanka to leave SL reeling at 11/3.
He finished with the figure of 4-01-23-02.

Sri Lanka skipper Shanaka along with Dinesh Chandimal revived Sri Lanka's innings after four early wickets left them reeling at 29/4 in 8.3 overs. The two added 31 runs for the fifth wicket. But Harshal Patel broke their partnership by dismissing Chandimal (22 runs).

Kuldeep Yadav went wicket-less
Kuldeep Yadav was included in India's T20I playing XI after nearly a year.
However, the Chinaman bowler failed to pick a wicket on his return to India's T20I set-up.
He finished with the figure of 22/0 after completing his quota of four overs.
Prior to this, he played his last T20I for India in July 2021 versus Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Most-capped player
Rohit Sharma becomes the most-capped T20I player
Sharma on Sunday night became the most-capped player in the T20Is.
He has now represented India in 125 T20Is.
Sharma recorded this feat by surpassing Pakistan's all-rounder Shoaib Malik. He had made 124 T20I appearances for Pakistan.
Malik is followed by fellow countryman Mohammad Hafeez (119) and England's Eoin Morgan (115).
The fifth spot in this list is reserved by Bangladesh's Mohammad Mahmudullah (113).
