    What's the story

Australian cricketer Matthew Kuhnemann has been cleared of any wrongdoing with his bowling action, following an investigation by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The inquiry was launched after concerns were raised during the Test series against Sri Lanka.

Despite the allegations, Kuhnemann played a pivotal role in Australia's 2-0 series victory over Sri Lanka, taking 16 wickets at an average of 17.18.

    Comeback

    Kuhnemann's performance and injury recovery

Kuhnemann's remarkable performance in the Test series came just weeks after he had returned from a serious thumb injury.

The spinner had dislocated and fractured his thumb while playing for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL).

However, despite the injury, he made a strong return to the international arena, playing a key role in Australia's win over Sri Lanka.

After the Test series, match officials asked for an independent assessment of Kuhnemann's bowling action.

The ICC allows bowlers a maximum of 15 degrees of flex in their bowling arm, anything beyond which is deemed illegal.

During the investigation, Kuhnemann was suspended from playing international matches temporarily.
