    Promising Indian batter Tilak Varma has slammed a fine century for India A in round 2 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 against India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur.

    India A resumed Day 3 on 115/1. Varma, who walked out in the morning, added 104 runs alongside overnight batter Pratham Singh, who smashed 122.

    Varma stayed unbeaten on 111 (India C: 3803/d).

    Varma has looked in fine touch as he lent a fine support to Patham, who dictated the show with a century.

    Riyan Parag came in and alongside Varma, the two added 45 runs. Post Parag's dismissal, Varma was joined by Shashwat Rawat and the two have added a solid partnership.

    Varma got to his ton off 177 balls in the 94th over.

    Varma averages over 50 in FC cricket

    As per ESPNcricinfo, playing his 17th First-Class match (26 innings), Varma has raced to 1,180 runs at an average of over 50. This was his fifty ton in First-Class cricket (50s: 4).

    He scored 10 in the 1st innings.

    Notably, this is Varma's first Duleep Trophy encounter. He didn't feature in round 1.

    Varma has played four ODIs and 16 T20Is for Team India.

    India A managed 290 runs in their first innings. Shams Mulani made the difference with a score of 89. Tanush Kotian scored a fifty as well. For India D, Harshit Rana took a four-fer.

    In response, India D were folded for a paltry 183. Khaleel Ahmed and Aaqib Khan claimed three-fers.

    India A declared at 380/3 with Varma and Rawat remaining unbeaten.
