    What's the story

    Borussia Dortmund have booked a berth in the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after beating PSV Eindhoven 2-0 in the round of 16 second-leg clash at home.

    After a 1-1 affair in the first leg, Jadon Sancho put the German side ahead in the third minute.

    Marco Reus then added a second in the 95th minute to seal a 3-1 aggregate win.

    As per Opta, Edin Terzic led Borussia Dortmund into the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the second time, equalling the club record set by Ottmar Hitzfeld (1995-96 and 1996-97) and Jurgen Klopp (2012-13 and 2013-14).

    Sancho scores in consecutive matches

    Sancho has scored in consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since November 2021 - for Manchester United.

    Since joining Dortmund on loan in January, Sancho has scored two goals (A1) in 13 matches. Overall, he owns 52 goals for Black and Yellow.

    Dortmund are unbeaten in all four of their European meetings with PSV (W2 D2).

    After avoiding defeat in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage tie, Dortmund have progressed to the next round.

    Dortmund are unbeaten in nine successive Champions League home matches (W5 D4).

    Dortmund started well and tested the PSV keeper before Sancho scored after Julian Brandt teed him up on the edge of the box.

    Dortmund had further chances in the first half but failed to score.

    The second half saw PSV step up but the Dutch side missed a host of chances.

    Dortmund had a goal ruled out but Reus settled matters late on.

    Reus scored his seventh goal of the season in all competitions. He also owns five assists from 29 matches. Overall, the veteran German forward owns 168 goals for the club in 416 matches.
