    What's the story

Iga Swiatek has advanced to the quarter-finals of the US Open after a decisive victory over Liudmila Samsonova.

The match, held at Arthur Ashe Stadium, ended with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-1 in favor of Swiatek.

This win marks her ninth Grand Slam quarter-final appearance and continues her impressive performance at Flushing Meadows.

    Stats

    A look at match stats

Swiatek won a total of 63 points and 14 winners throughout the match.

She served three aces compared to Samsonova's one.

The Polish had a win percentage of 88 and 45 in the first and second serves, respectively.

Swiatek won 25 of her 55 receiving points and converted three of her eight break points.

Samsonova recorded 24 unforced errors and three double-faults.

    Unbeaten streak

Swiatek's flawless performance and upcoming challenge

Swiatek, the top seed and only previous women's champion still in contention, has not lost a set in New York so far.

The 23-year-old Polish player showcased her prowess by losing just four points on her first serve during her 100th Grand Slam match.

She has won her last 33 out of 26 matches, marking an eight-set winning streak.

Swiatek will next face American Jessica Pegula in what promises to be a challenging match-up.

    Match analysis

    Swiatek's strategy and Samsonova's struggle

Despite a valiant effort, 16th seed Samsonova was unable to secure her first Grand Slam quarter-final spot.

She struggled against Swiatek's relentless pressure from the baseline, failing to establish a single break point against the Polish player.

"She has a pretty tricky game style, so you have to really work on your legs and be ready for longer rallies," said Swiatek about her upcoming opponent Pegula.

    Record achievement

Swiatek's record-equaling win and future outlook

Swiatek sealed her victory over Samsonova on the second match point with agile play at the net.

This triumph also saw her equal Ema Navarros's record for most hard court wins in the women's draw category, registering her 29th win.

Looking ahead, Swiatek expressed confidence about her form in New York, stating that she feels she is finally finding her rhythm after skipping the Toronto tune-up event.
