#IndiaInAustralia: John Buchanan believes Aussies won't allow Kohli to dominate

    What's the story

Virat Kohli will be eyeing to dominate in the upcoming four-match Test series against Australia, starting December 6.

The last time he toured Australia in 2015-16, Kohli amassed 692 runs which included four hundreds.

But former Australian World Cup winning coach, John Buchanan feels that this time around, Kohli will be kept quiet by the Aussie bowlers.

    Here is what Buchanan said.

Australians will bowl well to Kohli: Buchanan

According to a report in The Times of India, Buchanan feels that the quartet of Aussie bowlers will be effective against an in-form Kohli.

"Australia don't have a batsman of Virat Kohli's calibre but the Australians will bowl well to Kohli and I don't think he will be able to dominate the series," he said.

    Performance

Kohli has been in supreme form in 2018

Kohli has been in supreme form with the bat and the skipper is the highest run-scorer this year in both Tests and ODIs.

Kohli has notched ten tons across both formats.

He has been India's best batsman this year.

He was also the highest run-getter in away series against South Africa and England.

And now against the Aussies, he appears as India's best bet.

    Australia

Aussie bowlers expected to shine at home

Buchanan noted that the Aussies have a better bowling attack, given the conditions at home.

The three fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood will spell trouble for the Indian batsmen.

The pace battery shined against England in the 2017-18 Ashes, where they picked 66 wickets between them across five Tests.

Spinner Nathan Lyon has been impressive at home, as well.

    Opinion

Aussies are favorites, but Kohli will shine: Our take

India need their batsmen to deliver goods in Australia after twin failures during tours of South Africa and England this year.

Barring Kohli, the visitors have struggled to perform overseas on fast and bouncy pitches.

Given India's track record, one would fancy Australia as favorites, but we expect Kohli to shine.

He has dominated bowlers, across the globe and Australia should be no different.

    Information

Besides Buchanan, Punter and Chappell fancy Aussies to win

Besides Buchanan, the likes of Aussie legends Ricky Ponting and Ian Chappell have predicted a series win for Australia. Punter predicted a 2-1 win for the hosts. Chappell feels India were below par in England and won't be able to win against Australia.
