    Mitchell Marsh to miss start of Test summer: Here's why

    Australian cricket all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is set to miss the start of the Test summer after punching a wall and breaking his bowling hand.

    The incident occurred after the Western Australia cricketer was dismissed in a Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania on Sunday.

    A dejected Marsh was wearing his gloves when he punched the wall and broke his right hand.

    Marsh said the incident wouldn't happen again. "Sometimes you get beaten, sometimes you get out, and you can't be punching walls," he said. "It's a good lesson for me, hopefully it's a good lesson for other people as well."

    Marsh to miss four-six weeks after breaking hand

    According to a report in cricket.com.au, Marsh will miss four to six weeks after scans confirmed he broke his right hand.

    The injury rules him out for the start of the Test summer, and there's no guarantees he will win back his spot in the side when he recovers.

    Marsh said he had never punched a wall before and vowed to learn from this.

    Marsh faces losing Test spot after the incident

    The Pakistan cricket team is set to tour Australia in November 2019.

    The two sides play a two-match Test series, starting November 21.

    Marsh, who would have got into the side after impressing in the lone Test he featured in the Ashes 2019.

    He hd claimed seven scalps including a five-for and scored 41 runs in total.

    However, he now could lose his spot.

    The incident left Aussie coach Justin Langer disappointed.

    "He just told me I'm an idiot basically. He was disappointed for me," Marsh said.

    He also gave details about his injury.

    "It's my middle finger, just below the wrist there - a fracture straight through the bone," said Marsh.

    Meanwhile, Western Australia could now be without their skipper for half of the Sheffield Shield campaign.
