    What's the story

Arsenal fans, finally, have something to smile about.

The Gunners have reportedly agreed a club-record fee of £55.4 million with German outfit, Borussia Dortmund for Gabon hit-man, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

After months of speculation and interest from several clubs across Europe, the speedy forward is finally set to leave Signal Iduna Park for the Emirates stadium in North London.

Aubameyang to be Arsenal's highest paid player

After losing their best player, Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with Manchester United, Arsenal were in the hunt for a top striker.

2016 African Player of the Year, Aubameyang is now set to become the club's highest paid player after he pens down a three-and-a-half-year contract worth £180,000 a week.

Rivals Chelsea could play spoilsport in transfer

Borussia Dortmund are in the hunt for a replacement and have identified Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi as a prime target.

The Bundesliga outfit will only sanction Aubameyang's transfer, once a replacement has been found.

Chelsea could play spoilsport, as they too are in the hunt of a striker and losing Batshuayi, without having found a replacement, wouldn't be ideal.

Aubameyang will add new look to Arsenal's attack

Aubameyang, who is one of the top strikers across Europe, has already scored 21 goals in 25 appearances, this season.

The Gabon international finished last season as the top scorer in the German league with 31 goals to his name.

He will be reunited with former Dortmund team-mate, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and would bring a new look and excitement to Arsenal's attack.
