    What's the story

England and Sweden lock horns in a mega quarter-final encounter at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018.

The match will be held at the Samara Arena on Saturday.

England would look to book a spot in the semi-final only for the third time in the history of World Cup.

It will be a battle between England's attack and Sweden's defense.

    Here's our pre-match report.

    Update

    Team news and selection

Sweden right-back Mikael Lustig is suspended for the tie and is set to be replaced by Emil Krafth.

However, Sweden get a shot in the arm by the return of mid-fielder Sebastian Larsson.

For England, Jamie Vardy is doubtful after he suffered a groin injury against Colombia.

Mid-fielder Dele Alli will have a late fitness test, whereas, Ashley Young and Kyle Walker have recovered.

    Kane

Harry Kane will be vital tonight

All eyes will be on Harry Kane as the England skipper is in a different dimension, this term, and has already scored six goals.

He is in the driver's seat to bag the Golden Boot and would be a cause of concern for Sweden's manager.

Kane will be raring to rally his side and make pivotal inroads against a determined and strong Swedish defense.

    Views

    View from both camps

England manager Gareth Southgate stated that his side may not get this sort of an opportunity again.

He added that he is proud the way his boys are playing at the moment.

Sweden coach Janne Andersson has stated that it is wonderful to face England, which has been his second home.

He added that England still have the heart and spirit.

    Battle

    Can England break Swedish defense?

England's task will be to open up the defense of Sweden, as they have stood like a rock, till now.

Sweden are likely to sit deep and hit on the counter.

It is important for England to make the most of their chances and minimize the threats from counter-attacks.

England impressed against Colombia, but know they have a bigger test to pass against Sweden.

    Numbers

    Stat attack: Sweden vs England

Sweden are in the quarters for the first time since 1994.
