    What's the story

Xiaomi has ventured into the wearables segment with its first-ever smartwatch, the Mi Watch.

The new device is heavily inspired by the Apple Watch featuring a squircle design and runs a forked version of Google Wear OS.

The Mi Watch is priced at 1,299 yuan (roughly Rs. 13,000) but there's no word on its launch outside China, at least as of now.

    Design

Mi Watch comes in a single 44mm case size

The Mi Watch looks like an Apple Watch rip-off, featuring a curved rectangular touchscreen, a crown for scrolling, and a pill-shaped button right below that.

The wearable comes in a single 44mm case size but in two variants: a standard model with matte-finished aluminum body and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a premium edition which sports sapphire glass protection and a stainless-steel frame.

    Information

The smartwatch also features an AMOLED screen

The Mi Watch comes with a 1.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 368x448 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. It also offers swim-proof build quality and can be purchased in Silver and Black color options.

    Features

The Mi Watch can track 10 professional sports

The Mi Watch runs on Wear OS-based MIUI for Watch with a dedicated app store, customizable watch faces, dark mode, and a voice assistant to control smart home devices and more.

In terms of health-related features, the device comes with sleep and stress tracking, body energy tracking, and exercise tracking for 10 professional sports like running, swimming, and others.

    Specifications

It offers a battery life of up to 36 hours

The Mi Watch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. There is also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, heart rate sensor, and NFC functionality along with eSIM support for 4G connectivity.

Under the hood, it packs a 570mAh battery which offers a claimed life of up to 36 hours on a single charge.
