Windows 10 users can't connect any Bluetooth device now

    What's the story

Despite trying so hard, Microsoft has been failing at delivering completely stable and bug-free updates to Windows 10 users.

The company has drawn a lot of flak lately, and now, in another bad case, its cumulative release has broken a critical function of PCs - the ability to connect with Bluetooth speakers, headphones.

Here's all you need to know about it.

    Issue

Cumulative update for Windows 10 1903 creating Bluetooth audio issues

Just recently, the Redmond giant released a bug-warning document and admitted to Bluetooth pairing issues in the cumulative update of Windows 10, version 1903.

The release, titled KB4505903, plagued computers in such a way that their internal speakers remained 'audio output source' even when a Bluetooth speaker/headphone was connected.

This, several users complained, kept audio from being transmitted to Bluetooth-based devices.

    Quote

Here's what one user said about the issue

"After installing latest Windows 10 1903 quality update KB4505903 (July 2019) Intel Bluetooth Adapter was completely removed from [the] system and could not be reinstalled or reactivated," a Windows 10 user witnessing the issue wrote on Microsoft's feedback page.

    Fix

How you can fix the issue

As the Bluetooth issue will effectively keep your speakers and headphones from working, it is important to fix the bug.

This, as Microsoft pointed out, can be done by using the System File Checker tool and repairing missing or corrupted Windows files.

To run the repair tool, open command prompt on your machine, type 'sfc /scannow', press enter, and reboot.

    Official

No word on fix till now

While the work-around could bring your Bluetooth devices back to life, there's no word on an official patch.

Microsoft hasn't said anything about a permanent fix via Windows Update, which means the solution may or may not come.

It's also worth noting that the buggy 4505903 update still remains available, with no mention of the issues on its page.
