    What's the story

WhatsApp's latest beta version for Android devices includes a camera shortcut feature, designed to streamline and expedite the process of sharing photos and videos.

Our guide will help you navigate the process of enabling and utilizing this feature, so you can more efficiently share your moments with loved ones.

    Update WhatsApp

    Enabling this feature

To access this camera shortcut feature, ensure that your WhatsApp is updated to the latest version, specifically version 2.24.24.23 or later.

This update can be accessed within the Google Play Beta Program.

By keeping your app updated, you can enjoy the latest features and security updates offered by WhatsApp, improving your overall user experience and communication security.

    Quick capture and share

    Sharing made simple

After you have updated your app, open a chat where you want to share media. You will now notice a camera shortcut in the gallery view.

Clicking on it will now open your device's camera from within WhatsApp. Click the shutter for photos; press and hold for videos.

Add captions or make edits before sending with a single click.

    Traditional attachments

    Alternative sharing methods

If you don't want to use the camera shortcut or don't have it on your device, WhatsApp still provides the usual ways to share media.

By clicking the paperclip icon next to your message field, you can select either "Camera" to capture new images or "Gallery" to choose existing ones from your device.

You can also add captions and edit before sending.
