    What's the story

Days after its unveiling in Thailand, Vivo has launched its V9 smartphone in India today.

The Vivo V9 is priced at Rs. 22,990 and will be available in India starting April 2 while the pre-booking starts today.

Embracing an iPhone X-like notch and a vertically positioned rear dual camera, the V9 takes on the likes of OPPO R15 and ASUS Zenfone 5.

    Design & Display

Even the Vivo V9 gets a notch like iPhone X

Flaunting an iPhone X-like notch, the Vivo V9 sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ FullView display (1080*2280 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 90% screen-to-body ratio.

One the rear, we see an iPhone X like vertically positioned dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone is available in three color options - 'Champagne Gold', 'Sapphire Blue' and 'Pearl Black'.

    Camera

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

In terms of optics, the primary camera on Vivo V9 is a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors with f/2.0 and f/2.4 aperture respectively.

On the front, it offers a massive 24-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI-based 'Face Beauty' mode.

Notably, both the rear and front cameras offer Portrait Mode and the in-style AR stickers - much like Apple's Animoji and Samsung's AR Emoji.

    Storage, Battery

    Under the hood

Under the hood, the Vivo V9 is powered by the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 626 SoC octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage (expandable up to 256GB).

In terms of connectivity, you get dual SIM card support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch 4.0 custom UI and packs a 3,260mAh battery.
