    What's the story

Vivo has launched two new flagship smartphones in China: Vivo Nex S and Vivo Nex A.

The highlights of these phones are that they feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, pop-up selfie camera, and have a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24%.

Further, Vivo has removed the earpiece speaker in the front and put it inside the screen, which broadcasts sound by sending vibrations through the display.

    Information

Retractable camera for a fully notch-less display

Vivo has made the front camera on the phones retractable in nature. It can be elevated from the top in 0.8 seconds. Earlier, at the MWC 2018 in February, Vivo had unveiled the concept phone by the name of Vivo APEX.

    Specs

6.59-inch display, 4,000mAh battery, dual rear cameras

The Vivo Nex S and Nex A feature a 6.59-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and are powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

The smartphones feature dual rear cameras with 12MP + 5MP sensors and an 8MP selfie camera that reveals itself only when the camera app is opened.

The devices run Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0.

    Features

The phones feature Vivo's own AI voice assistant Jovi

While the Nex S is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the Nex A is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor.

The Nex A has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, while the Nex S sports a third-generation in-display fingerprint sensor which means that users can unlock the phone by placing their fingers anywhere on the screen.

    Details

    Pricing and availability

The Vivo Nex S's 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 47,500 and 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 53,000.

The Nex A with 6GB RAM/128GB storage has been priced at Rs. 41,000.

The devices will become available in China starting June 23 in Diamond Black and Ruby Red color options.
