China: Toddler locks iPhone for 47years by entering wrong passcode

According to Chinese media reports, a two-year-old boy in Shanghai has locked his mother's iPhone for 47 years by repeatedly entering the wrong passcode.
This happened after the toddler was left alone to play with the phone.
Each time an incorrect passcode was entered, the phone was disabled for a particular period of time, eventually adding up to the equivalent of 47 years.

Toddler's mother found the phone disabled for 25 million minutes
The mother, identified by the name Lu, said that she returned home to find that the phone had been disabled for 25 million minutes.
According to her, the phone was given to the child to watch educational videos to keep him busy in her absence.
"I can't really wait for 47 years and tell my grandchild it was your father's mistake," Lu said.
Solution
One solution can be to perform a factory reset
An Apple store technician has told Lu to either wait for 47 years or clear out the contents of the handset before reinstalling all files.
"In this woman's case, the only way out is to erase all the phone data and do a factory reset," he said.
The technician also recalled cases of iPhones getting locked for 80 years due to the same reason.
