    What's the story

    Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi's camera-centric phone which was recently introduced in China, is all set to be launched in India on October 16.

    In the latest update, the company has posted a teaser image which features an infinity symbol (resembling 8) along with '#64MPQuadCamBeast' text, hinting at the arrival of Redmi Note 8 Pro.

    Redmi Note 8 Pro: At a glance

    As far as its specifications are concerned, the Redmi Note 8 Pro features a waterdrop notched design with ultra-slim top and bottom bezels to offer 91.94% screen-to-body ratio.

    Its back side comes with a gradient finish and houses vertically stacked quad cameras and a physical fingerprint reader.

    The handset sports a 6.53-inch LCD display with a full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

    Redmi Note 8 Pro houses a mighty 64MP camera

    The quad rear cameras on the Redmi Note 8 Pro include a 64MP (f/1.9) primary sensor, 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor.

    For the selfie lovers, there is a 20MP (f/2.0) front-facing snapper housed in the notch.

    Moreover, the main camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the selfie camera supports 1080p videos at 30fps.

    The Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by all-new MediaTek Helio G90T octa-core processor, paired with upto 8GB RAM and upto 128GB of storage.

    The phone runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support.

    Lastly, it supports all latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Type-C port, and a headphone jack.

    And, what will be the pricing?

    In China, the Redmi Note 8 Pro starts at CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 14,000) for the entry-level 6GB/64GB model and goes upto CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 18,000) for the 8GB/128GB model. Hence, we expect it to arrive in India at a similar price point.
