Redmi Note 6 Pro v/s Note 5 Pro: What's different?
What's the story
For a long time now, Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 Pro has dominated the mid-range smartphone market in India.
And now, as its successor, Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India in mid-November.
Notably, the upcoming phone has already gone official in Thailand. So, by now, we know all about the device.
Here's what's different between the two phones.
Design & Display
At a glance
Up front, Note 6 Pro adopts a notched display with a prominent chin - a depart from Note 5 Pro's rectangular screen.
On the back, Note 6 Pro looks identical to its predecessor with an iPhone X-like camera layout and a fingerprint sensor.
Further, Note 6 Pro gets a 6.26-inch (19:9) full-HD+ LCD display as compared to Note 5 Pro's 5.99-inch (18:9) full-HD+ screen.
Camera

On the back, the Redmi Note 6 Pro gets a 12MP+5MP dual camera setup - much like the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
However, the main sensor has now been upgraded with larger 1.4-micron pixels, a wider f/1.9 aperture, and Dual-Pixel PDAF.
Up front, the notch houses a dual camera setup comprising a 20-MP (f/2.0) primary sensor with 1.8-micron pixels and a 2-MP depth sensor.
Internals
Under the hood
The Redmi Note 6 Pro retains all the 'under the hood' features of its predecessor.
Hence, the phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, paired with up to 6GB of RAM (in India) and 64GB of inbuilt storage.
Further, the phone runs on Android Oreo-based MIUI and packs a 4,000mAh battery with standard sensors and connectivity options.
