    What's the story

In an official announcement, Xiaomi has revealed that talks with Netflix are in the process and that "Netflix HD contents will be available very soon" on its popular Poco F1 phone.

Separately, the tech giant has also released MIUI 10 (9.3.28) Global beta ROM update for several of its smartphones, including Poco F1.

Here's what it means for the Poco F1 users.

    Information

Previously, Poco F1 received Widevine L1 certification

Recently, the MIUI 9.2.25 beta update introduced Widevine L1 support on Poco F1 which allows the users to stream HD content on Amazon Prime and Hotstar. However, much to the dismay of its users, Poco F1 was not able to stream HD content from Netflix.

    New features

And, now what's new in the update?

Xiaomi's MIUI 10 global beta update has fixed the touch issues and introduced March security patch, notification setup in the status bar and dark mode in Poco Launcher.

Other important changes include the option to hide notch, Asphalt 8 and Asphalt 9 compatibility, Google Lens support and the ability to customize grid layout as well as app icon size in Poco Launcher.

    Design & display

Meanwhile, here's recalling the Xiaomi Poco F1

Up front, the Poco F1 features a notch-based display with a slightly wider cut-out and a prominent bottom bezel.

On the back, the phone gets a polycarbonate panel which houses a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor.

The Poco F1 sports a 6.18-inch full-HD+ (2246x1080) display with 500-nits brightness, 403ppi pixel density, and is protected by a curved Gorilla Glass 3.

    Camera

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Poco F1 features a rear dual-camera setup comprising a 12MP (f/1.9) Sony IMX363 sensor with 1.4-micron pixel and dual-pixel autofocus, paired with a 5MP (f/2.0) secondary depth sensor.

Up front, there's a 20MP camera with support for AI-based Portrait mode and Scene detection with India-specific optimizations.

The primary camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps and slow-mo in 720p/1080p at up to 240fps.

    Internals

    Under the hood

The Poco F1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with dedicated LiquidCool Technology, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 256GB).

The phone runs Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0.
