    What's the story

Sony has unveiled its DualSense wireless controller that will arrive later this year with PS5, the company's next-generation gaming console.

The latest version retains some of the features we saw on the PS4's DualShock 4 controller, while sporting an improved dual-tone design and offering new functionalities such as haptic feedback and built-in microphone support.

    At a glance

DualSense: What's new in terms of design

Right of the bat, we have the new dual-tone color finish, which departs from the traditional monochrome look of previous-generation controllers.

The button layout mostly remains the same except for a new 'Create' key that replaces the 'Share' button and a repositioned light bar.

Sony also says it has changed the angle of the hand triggers and made some subtle updates to the grip.

    Information

'Create' button will let you record and share gameplay

The 'Create' button on the DualSense allows players to create and share gameplay content. However, Sony has not shared how the feature would work; it is likely to reveal more information over the coming weeks.

    New sensations

The controller also gets haptic feedback for immersive gaming experience

Sony has, for the first time, added haptic feedback to its controller. With DualSense, players will get "a variety of powerful sensations" that will offer an immersive gaming experience.

The company has also added adaptive triggers into the L2 and R2 buttons that will let you feel "the tension of your actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow."

    Hardware

Meanwhile, here's recalling the specifications of PS5 console

Last month, Sony revealed the hardware specifications of PS5. The console will be backed by an octa-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz and an AMD RDNA 2 GPU that boasts of 10.28 teraflops and 36 compute units clocked at 2.23GHz.

The combination will be paired with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and an 825GB SSD that is touted to offer super-fast loading times.
