    What's the story

    As an upgrade to the OPPO A83 model launched in January, OPPO has now launched A83 Pro, priced at Rs. 15,990.

    The pro version offers more RAM and on-board storage as compared to the earlier launched A83.

    However, rest of the features and specs are exactly the same as that of A83.

    Design and Display

    OPPO A83 Pro is identical to the previously launched A83

    In terms of design, the back panel looks a lot like iPhone 7, sporting a protruding single lens primary camera with an overall rounded finish.

    On the front, the dual-SIM OPPO A83 Pro features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) LCD panel with 18:9 aspect ratio.

    The smartphone measures 150.5*73.1*7.7mm and weighs 143 grams, and is available in two colors - Champagne and Black.

    AI powered Cameras

    The OPPO A83 smartphone bears a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera sensor along with an LED flash. In its 'Ultra-HD' mode, the phone is touted to capture multiple shots and automatically create a 50-MP photo.

    One the front, you get an 8-megapixel f/2.2 camera sensor which is powered by the company's built-in AI Beauty Recognition technology, and also supports face unlock technology.

    Featuring on both the OPPO A83 and A83 Pro, this technology is based on a global image database of human faces which allows the front camera to recognize your gender, age, skin type, and then refine 200+ facial features to enhance your selfies.

    Under the hood

    Under the hood, the OPPO A83 Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6737T SoC processor that clocks up to 2.5GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

    Further, the smartphone, running ColorOS 3.2 on top of Android 7.1 Nougat, packs a 3,180mAh battery.

    Staying connected

    From on-board sensors to essential connectivity options

    In terms of connectivity options, the OPPO A83 comes with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a facial recognition feature to unlock your device.

    On-board sensors include GPS, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

    Notably, both the OPPO A83 and A83 Pro don't carry fingerprint sensors.
