    What's the story

    HMD Global has launched Nokia X6, the company's first Nokia smartphone to embrace the on-trend notch, in Beijing.

    Entering the Chinese market as a mid-budget smartphone, the key highlights of Nokia X6 are - Snapdragon 636 processor, up to 6GB RAM, a 16MP front camera and a 19:9 notch-based display.

    Nokia X6 gets a 5.8-inch full-HD+ display, Snapdragon 636 chipset

    The Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

    The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor, paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

    Moreover, the X6 runs Android 8.1 Oreo stock version and supports dual-SIM (Nano) cards.

    Quick charge battery and DND mode for gaming

    Under the hood, Nokia X6 packs a 3,060mAh battery. Given the phone supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology, it can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes via an 18W charger. Further, the phone also comes with a 'Do Not Disturb' mode for uninterrupted gaming.

    Camera

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Nokia X6 sports a dual rear-camera setup with a 16MP f/2.0 sensor, 1-micron pixels and a 5MP monochrome sensor.

    On the front, it gets a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor.

    Nokia X6 also gets AI integration to offer optimized color contrast, depth of field, portrait lighting effects, and face recognition.

    It also offers HDR and Nokia's Bothie feature.

    Connectivity and Sensors

    Connectivity options on Nokia X6 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

    Pricing and Availability

    Launched in China, may enter other markets as well

    Considering that almost every OEM is targeting the growing Indian smartphone market, HMD Global may soon introduce its mid-budget X6 in the country.

    As for pricing, Nokia X6 costs CNY 1,299 (Rs. 13,800) for 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant, CNY 1,499 (Rs. 16,000) for the 4GB RAM/64GB option, and CNY 1,699 (Rs. 18,100) for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant.
