    What's the story

Reliance Jio, a prominent player in India's telecom sector, has revealed plans to distribute its homegrown technologies worldwide.

These innovative solutions have been instrumental in driving Jio's 4G and 5G networks.

The company's strategic investments in next-generation network and digital technologies are anticipated to sustain its competitive advantage and market share growth, as reported by Jio's parent company Reliance Industries Limited (RIL).

    Innovation drive

Jio's patent portfolio and new product launches

RIL underscored that Jio Platforms and its subsidiaries have been proactive in intellectual property rights, filing for 1,255 patents and securing 144 in FY2023-24.

By March 2024, the total number of approved patents had reached 331.

These patents span various domains including 6G, AI, Deep Learning, Big Data, and Devices among others.

In addition to this innovation drive, Jio has introduced new products such as JioBharat (affordable 4G smartphone) and JioSpaceFiber (satellite internet service).

    Network expansion

5G network attracts over 108 million subscribers

Jio has successfully launched its 'True 5G' network across India, attracting over 108 million subscribers.

This advanced network now handles nearly 30% of the company's mobility data traffic, all carried on Jio's integrated 5G+4G core.

The report further highlighted that Jio is the only operator in India implementing 5G on standalone architecture, offering multiple technology advantages including customized network slices for different customer groups and use cases.
