    What is it?

    Google Stadia: At a glance

Google Stadia is a Netflix-like service for games wherein you can stream video games on any web browser. Unlike traditional gaming platforms, it doesn't require high-end gaming machines to play graphics-intensive games.

Instead, Stadia leverages Google's data centers to seamlessly stream any game on a browser like Google Chrome or Safari. This means you don't need to install anything to play games.

    Information

Google has also launched a dedicated Stadia controller

Google has also introduced a dedicated Stadia gamepad. This device is like a regular controller but enhanced with two additional buttons: one for triggering Google Assistant's help and the other for live streaming the game on YouTube (4K streaming at 60fps, as per Google).

    Quality

Stadia will offer 4K gaming at 60fps

Google says Stadia can currently stream popular titles at 1080p resolution and 60fps and it'll be ramped upto 4K resolution at 60fps with HDR and surround sound by the end of 2019. Eventually, the service will support streaming at upto 8K resolution.

Google has also demoed a continuity feature wherein you can leave a game on one device and seamlessly resume on another.

    Information

    What makes Stadia so powerful?

Stadia is powered by Google's Cloud and data centers which feature computers hosting a 2.7GHz processor, 16GB RAM, and a custom GPU. With this, the platform promises 10.7 teraflops of processing power - more than that of PS4 Pro and Xbox One-X combined.

    Click and play

Also, Stadia games will come with one-click launch feature

Along with a handy gaming platform, Stadia will also offer developers additional ways to expand the reach of their titles.

For instance, people would get an option to play a game in Chrome after streaming its official trailer/gameplay on YouTube.

Among other things, people will also be able to participate in games from live streams or join a particular section shared by a friend.
