    What's the story

The stage is set for this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

As you might expect, a number of technology giants have already teased smart home products they're planning to showcase at the annual event.

Many of these are going to be powered by Google Assistant, and they offer some amazing new capabilities.

    Let's check them out.

    Product #1

    Kohler Smart Bathroom products

After smartphones and smart homes, smart bathrooms are becoming a real thing.

Case in point: Kohler, a 146-year-old plumbing company that has announced a range of smart bathroom products, including an intelligent toilet, freestanding bath, lighted mirror, and lighted three-piece vanity.

They all have got integrated lights, which can be voice controlled and adjusted by giving commands to Google Assistant.

    Information

Also, there's Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror

Kohler has also announced a Google Assistant-integrated version of its Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror. It can be commanded to adjust LED lights for precision routines like makeup application and skin care. Plus, you also get features like motion-activated wayfinding nightlight and hermetically sealed speakers.

    Product #2

Smart bulbs and switches from GE

After unveiling Made-for-Google smart light bulbs last year, GE is expanding its portfolio of Google Assistant-backed products with full-color LEDs, smart switches, and motion sensors.

The new LED bulbs offer several color options as well as adjustable whites, while the smart switches would make any bulb a smart bulb.

They both can directly be controlled by commanding Google Assistant on phone or Google Home.

    Product #3

    D-Link's smart water sensors

D-Link has announced that its wireless sensor for detecting water leaks can now be controlled via Google Assistant.

Meaning, without any upgrade to the $50 wall-mountable device, users can ask Google Assistant to check whether the device has detected any leaks.

Normally, the sensor's alarm goes off when a leak is detected, but this capability can be used when the owner is not home.

    Product #4

    Gourmia's smart kitchen appliances

Popular kitchen appliance manufacturer Gourmia plans to unveil three smart kitchen products at CES - Digital Air Fryer, Deluxe MultiCooker, and Coffee Maker and Grinder.

All three products will be powered by Google Assistant, which means users would be able to prepare their food or beverages by calling out their Google Home devices and detailing the action to be taken.
