    What's the story

Google is releasing an update to fix a widespread issue plaguing its Chromecast devices.

The problem, which emerged over the last weekend, has been blocking users from casting content with "untrusted device" errors.

The glitch has especially affected 2nd generation of Chromecast and Chromecast Audio devices.

Though Google hasn't revealed the exact cause of these errors, a Reddit user hinted an expired certificate embedded within could be the culprit.

"We have started to roll out a fix for the problem with Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio devices, which will be completed over the next few days," Google said in a support post.
