    What's the story

Former OpenAI Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Mira Murati has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) start-up called 'Thinking Machines Lab.'

The company's main goal is "to make AI systems more widely understood, customizable and generally capable."

While product details are still under wraps, the start-up has promised to stay publicly transparent by regularly publishing technical research and code.

    Mission statement

Thinking Machines Lab aims to democratize AI

In a press release, Thinking Machines Lab revealed that it is focused on developing products that enable human-AI collaboration, as opposed to building fully autonomous systems.

The company envisions "a future where everyone has access to the knowledge and tools to make AI work for their unique needs and goals."

This approach further emphasizes Murati's commitment to democratizing AI technology.
