    What's the story

For some years now, Netflix has been releasing a list of TVs that are best suited for its content.

The streaming giant, as part of the Netflix Recommended TV program, rigorously tests several models to identify which TVs deliver a better experience for the platform.

And as tradition goes, Netflix has announced its recommendations for 2019.

Find out if yours is on the list.

    Parameters

Firstly, how does a TV get recommended by Netflix?

While buying a new TV, you might consider an option based on its picture excellence, screen size, and audio quality among other things.

However, that's not how Netflix judges a TV. Instead, it gives its recommendation on parameters like speed, ease of navigation, and browsing experience.

For an official nod, a TV must meet at least 5 of the 7 criteria prescribed by Netflix.

    Tests

Here's a closer look at Netflix's criteria for recommending TVs

The first criterion is speed. The TV should turn on instantly and the Netflix app should always launch quickly.

Ease of navigation comes second. The TV remote must have a dedicated Netflix button and the Netflix app should be easy to find from the TV menu.

Lastly, the TV should offer High-resolution Netflix Interface, background app refresh, and should support the latest app version.

    Winners

These are 2019's Netflix Recommended TVs

Only select models from a few brands have passed the test and can officially carry the Netflix Recommended TV logo in 2019.

The list includes Samsung's Q60R/Q70R/Q75R/Q80R/Q90R/Q900R series, RU8000, and The Frame (2019) models.

    Further, Sony's A9G, X9500G, X9507G, X8550G, X8500G, X8507G, and X8577G models and Panasonic's GX900, GX800, GX750, GX740, and GX700 TVs have also received the official certification.

    Information

Additional brands will be added as they become available

Netflix mentions that additional brands and TV models will be added over time as they become available and pass the eligibility tests.
