    What's the story

Apple is preparing to test a new app for event and meeting invitations, internally dubbed "Confetti."

The tech giant plans to roll out this internal trial as soon as this week.

The second developer beta of iOS 18.3 has already teased the existence of this unreleased app.

According to Bloomberg, the app will currently allow employees to send invites for events and meetings via iCloud. After testing, it may release for public use.

    Synchronized launch

Confetti's launch to coincide with iOS 18.3 release

The launch of Confetti is likely to coincide with the release of iOS 18.3. This strategic timing indicates that the app and the new OS update could come with integrated features.

The app was first spotted as "Invites" in an early January discovery in the iOS 18.3 developer beta, indicating its main purpose of managing event scheduling.

    App evolution

Confetti: An extension of Apple's Calendar app

Confetti was first believed to be an extension of 2024's Calendar app modifications, including scheduling reminders.

The new app is likely to provide better ways of organizing meetings and events, courtesy of its iCloud integration.

It is also speculated that Confetti could let users schedule reminders from different apps on iOS 18, just like the current calendar features.

    Advanced features

Confetti's potential integration with Apple Intelligence

Confetti is also rumored to work with an iOS 18 daemon (background computing process) called GroupKit. This indicates the possibility of advanced group scheduling capabilities within the app.

There's also speculation about its possible integration with Apple Intelligence, which could let users add Genmoji to their invites. However, these features are yet to be confirmed by Apple.
