    2018 Hyundai Creta to launch in India, next week

    What's the story

    Hyundai India is all set to unveil the 2018 version of Creta, its compact SUV, in the country next week.

    The 2018 Creta is expected to be launched on May 21 or May 22. Notably, Hyundai dealers confirmed the latter date and have started accepting bookings for the car for a token amount of Rs. 30,000.

    What's new in the 2018 Creta facelift edition

    The car gets several cosmetic updates including the new cascading grille, new projector headlamps with LED position lights, redesigned bumper with larger air dam, new fog-lamps and new LED daytime running lamps and new taillights.

    The top-end model gets larger 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, the mid variants will offer 16-inch alloys and the lower trims will come with 16-inch steel wheels with wheel caps.

    Interiors

    The cabin gets cosmetic changes and new features as well

    Inside the cabin, the 2018 Creta gets a new black dashboard with silver accents, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link for in-car connectivity.

    Other new features on this facelift edition include an electric sunroof, push-button start, automatic climate control, digital clock, leather-wrapped steering and gearbox lever.

    Safety features onboard the 2018 Creta

    In terms of road safety, the all-new Creta offers six airbags (including side and curtain), Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, electronic stability control, hill assist, rear parking sensors with camera, static bending lights and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

    Engine and Power

    The 2018 Hyundai Creta will see no mechanical change

    The compact SUV will be offered in three powertrain variants starting with the 89 bhp 1.4-liter diesel mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

    Other options include the 123 bhp 1.6-liter petrol, and the top-end 126 bhp 1.6-liter diesel engine.

    Notably, both the 1.6-liter engines will come with the option of either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

    The 2018 Creta facelift will be offered in six variants

    The car will be available in six variants - E, E+, S, SX, SX dual tone, and SX (O). Moreover, Hyundai is offering two new color options as well - Passion Orange and Marina Blue.
