    Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, on Saturday, quit the party saying democracy is under threat.

    Sinha announced it at a rally in Patna, and made it clear he would not join any party.

    Slamming the Narendra Modi led Centre government, Sinha said he will work for democracy from now on. Of late, Sinha has been quite vocal about his disagreements with the NDA.

    Yashwant Sinha praises Vajpayee rule, condemns Modi

    Announcing his decision to quit, Sinha said Atal Bihari Vajpayee's rule was better.

    He added, "When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister, we were all instructed that the Parliament should run. We were told that the Opposition should be given the opportunity to raise whichever issue they want."

    He said, BJP was more-than-happy with a non-functional Parliament.

    Talking about Parliament, Sinha said, "Did the prime minister ever unite the leaders of the Opposition parties and talk to them? The government is not concerned about this issue. The government was very happy that the Parliament wasn't running."

    Yashwant Sinha, has been pretty vocal about his dissent with his party at the centre recently.

    He wrote a column in Indian Express, asking PM Modi to speak up and understand the grave concerns of nation.

    He even slammed Narendra Modi for demonetization calling it a failure that led to tax terrorism at the hands of only one policy-maker.
