After Majithia, Arvind Kejriwal apologizes to Nitin Gadkari

    What's the story

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's apology spree continues. Now, in a letter, Kejriwal apologized to road, transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari for calling him one of the most corrupt politicians.

This comes days after Kejriwal apologized to SAD leader Bikram Majithia, risking his party's survival in Punjab.

Subsequently, Kejriwal and Gadkari submitted a joint application withdrawing the defamation case filed by the latter.

    Gadkari

What did Kejriwal write in the letter to Gadkari?

In 2013, Gadkari had filed a criminal defamation case against Kejriwal. The AAP chief had included Gadkari's name in a list termed "India's most corrupt" ahead of the 2014 parliamentary elections.

Now, Kejriwal expressed regret for making "unverified allegations." He wrote, "I have nothing personal against you (Gadkari). Let us put the incident behind us and bring the court proceedings to a closure."

    Reason

But, why is Kejriwal apologizing left, right and center?

Apparently, Kejriwal wants to get rid of all the 33 defamation cases against him through such "out-of-court settlements" as they are draining AAP's money/resources.

He also apologized to Congress's Kapil Sibal for alleging that he had a conflict of interest in seeking to revise a tax demand on Vodafone.

Others in his "sorry" list include FM Arun Jaitley and former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit.
