What makes Narendra Modi so popular?

    What's the story

Though BJP recently lost Karnataka, but no one can deny that BJP and its 'Pradhan sewak' continue to dominate the Indian political scene.

Further, a survey conducted by India Today- Karvy revealed that Modi enjoys a whopping 53% endorsement as the next Prime Minister against a minuscule 22% in favour of Rahul Gandhi.

So, the question is, why is Modi so popular?

    Empowerment

Leadership! Not just a play of words

Oratory skills don't get you votes, maybe they do to Modi. But the PM doesn't just communicate with words, he also backs them with action.

From Jan-Dhan Yojana to Ujjwala, the schemes that UPA calls 'renaming', have truly changed the rural scenario, especially for women.

Notably, 6.2 crore women are the beneficiaries of the Mudra loans, and over 50% Jan-Dhan accounts belong to women.

    Inspirational

    Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas

From poverty to the Prime Minister-ship, Modi's personal life is an inspiration for many. When he says 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas', Indians find hopes of inclusive growth.

A gist of this unity was visible when Modi's government extended valuable support to the Muslim women in their fight against the illegitimacy of Triple Talaq.

His support helped them defeat the draconian practice for eternity.

    New India

    Understanding youth and their aspirations

Modi understands the pulse of the young generation.

His reiteration of conviction that within us lies the potential to change the course of our future is the greatest set of imagination, served with good governance, to the Indian youth.

Modi's hectic lifestyle followed by an incredible success record is what the youth, especially the millennials, look up to.

    People's leader

Unprecedented stand on corruption and the corrupt

The controversies, success and the failure around demonetization move are debatable. But never in Indian history has a politician acted against the corrupt system with such single-minded focus.

Modi's 'notebandi' was a shot in the arm on political front, yet Congress's efforts in calibrating an anti-modi sentiment failed during the UP elections because people were happy to see the PM act, results notwithstanding.

    Details

Emphasis on culture and 126 crore Indians

Japanese PM Shinzo Abe doing Aarti at Varanasi Ghat, President Xi Jinping riding a swing and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu at Sabarmati Ashram- Modi gave his countrymen many instances to be proud of their culture and traditions.

With the intermittent reminder of 126 crore Indians being his true strength, Modi makes sure he brings his 'sawa 100 crore deshwasis' along, wherever he may be.

    Do you know?

Conclusion: He isn't the best, but better in the lot

In conclusion, here's a man who works hard, has incredible work ethics, is politically shrewd and is ambitious. You may not agree with everything he does, but he is a great source of inspiration to the young Indians. He is a people's leader and knows how to strike a chord.
