The governing council is the apex body of NITI Aayog. The council includes Chief Ministers of all states, lieutenant governors of union territories, several union ministers and senior government officials.

Jagan Mohan Reddy (Andhra's CM), Yogi Adityanath (UP's CM), HD Kumaraswamy (Karnataka's CM) and Ashok Gehlot (Rajasthan's CM) also marked their presence.

    Address

PM Modi reminded of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'

PM Modi said NITI Aayog will play a key role in fulfilling the promise of "Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas". Earlier, PM Modi asked BJP lawmakers to live by this mantra for the next five years.

He asked states to recognize their core competence and work towards raising GDP targets from district levels itself.

He asked everyone to focus on development.

    Topics

From farmers' income to water conversation, he touched many topics

PM Modi said for fulfilling the promise of doubling farmers' income by 2024, it is extremely important to focus on fisheries, animal husbandry, horticulture, fruits, and vegetables.

"Benefits of PM-KISAN-Kisan Samman Nidhi and other farmer-centric schemes should reach beneficiaries in time," he added.

PM Modi also spoke about water conservation and management. He said rural houses should get piped water by 2024.

    Information

He asked Centre and states to focus on export sector

Further, PM Modi said the export sector holds importance in developing countries. He added both Centre and states should turn attention towards exports to increase per capita incomes. He mentioned North Eastern states have a huge potential in this sector.
