    What's the story

BJP chief Amit Shah slammed Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan over "politics of violence", blaming him for the political killings in the state.

"Since the Left came to power in Kerala, several workers of the BJP and Sangh (RSS) have been killed. The killings are brutal, bodies are chopped into pieces," he said.

Communists have disappeared from the world and Congress from India, Shah iterated.

    Violence

The spate of violence in Kerala

Political violence in Kerala can be traced to 1960s.

Experts identify as key reasons for clashes the authoritarian stance of communists, RSS' strong pro-Hindutva stance and a creeping fundamentalism.

In recent years, increasing hostility between ideologies of political parties has led to a high number of murders.

Since 1980s, over 200 people have been killed in political attacks in Kannur, the hotbed of violence.

    Pointing fingers at opponents

In the last year, recurring instances of RSS workers being 'hacked' to death have been reported.

CPI-M workers have also lost their lives in brutal fashion in this vicious cycle of political revenge.

BJP and RSS have pointedly accused CPI-M for using violence against workers; however, CPI-M claims it is the other way round and that RSS has killed nearly 200 communist workers.

Lotus will bloom despite violence: Shah

Shah said BJP, "the world's largest party", will win despite the violence. "The more muck of murders they spread, the lotus will bloom better."

He also slammed the "champions of human rights" for their silence. "Why do they not take out any march against atrocities committed by the Left?"

On October 3, Shah launched the Jan Raksha Yatra to highlight "Left atrocities" in Kerala.
