    What's the story

Entering the dating phase after a separation demands cautious steps.

Navigating the dating reinitiation phase demands patience, open communication, and a clear understanding of each other's intentions. It's a crucial time to rebuild a foundation based on trust, honesty, and genuine connection.

Newsbytes got in touch with relationship coach Jeevika Sharma who emphasizes clarity and communication to pave the way for successful relationships.

    Avoid probing

Do not dig into your partner's past

Avoid probing your partner's past relationships. If starting anew, limit or sever connections with previous interests.

"If patching up, the couple needs to discuss their expectations and thoughts. They should be clear about the desired outcome for this relationship. If things align, only then should they proceed with the reconciliation process," explains the relationship expert.

    Observe

    Observe and analyze

Observe and analyze their behavior to understand their true intentions towards you — why do they want the relationship back, is it revenge, influence, or genuine interest?

Words can lie but actions speak the truth. This clarity aids decisions on reconciliation. Address past misunderstandings to avoid mixed signals and frustration.

Sharma advises against third-party involvement for clearer decision-making in rekindling relationships.

    Trial period

    Consider keeping a trial month

Allow a trial period of one to two months and gauge the revival of emotional connection before further commitments.

Take it slow and do not rush into a relationship.

Invest time, close gaps, and gradually reignite the spark if you are getting back with a previous partner. "Take a couple of days a week to be spent with each other, advises Sharma.

    Bonding

    Nurture the bond

It can be tough to develop a connection with someone new after a long break from romantic relationships.

To sail smoothly, stay connected through small talks over calls or texts. Tell each about your life and routine in general so that they get a slight idea about your life.

Share your likes, dislikes, and family details to foster a deeper connection and understanding.
