    What's the story

Apart from the sweets and the main event of tying the rakhi, one major highlight of Raksha Bandhan is the gift exchange between siblings.

Ruchita Bansal, founder and creative director of luxury gifting company Izzhaar tells us how to craft a memorable surprise for your sibling using simple items at home.

The idea is to assemble and organize thoughtful items into a beautiful package.

    Minimal and sustainable

    Going the minimalistic way

This Raksha Bandhan, Bansal recommends going the sustainable and minimalistic way in curating gifts for your siblings, using available resources at home.

She suggests being as creative as you can to display your love and affection through the gifts you curate.

Be versatile with the gift while keeping your sibling's interests and likes in mind.

    Gift 1

    Coffee hamper

Bansal explains how to create a coffee hamper at almost no cost.

"Find a cheaper seagrass basket and jazz it up with pastel color paper confetti at the base. Place an aromatic packet of coffee with essentials like a French press coffee maker a leakproof coffee mug and two jars filled with your favorite gourmet snacks."

You may also add a beautiful scented candle.

    Gift 2

    Printed basket tray

"One can use a printed basket tray to make a charming hamper," says Bansal.

"Spruce up the tray with some beautiful beads and colorful tassels. Get four printed tin jars or use plain jars and wrap them with matching gift paper to give it a contrasting look," she says.

Then fill the jars with sweets or gourmet food of your choice.

    Gift 3

    Tray of flowers

Bansal suggests curating a festive sparkling hamper using a simple tray, two jars and some crafted flowers.

"Immerse the tray in opulence with a hand-curated assortment of gourmet treasures, complementing the festive feast. You can add a photo frame with nostalgic memories that your siblings love to cherish."

Add an extra layer of elegance by placing a traditional rakhi.
