    What's the story

    The winters are here!

Quite like you, your pets also need extra care during the cold and dry season.

Despite their layer of fur, our non-human friends are quite susceptible to falling sick during winters.

However, don't worry. With some preparation and effort, your pets will be just fine.

Here are some tips to protect your pets, when the temperatures drop.

    Tip 1

    Limit your pet's outdoor time

Your furry mate may love to hang out outdoors, but you must limit its outside time during winters, as it might catch cold or even fall prey to frostbite.

Although you should take it out for exercise or play, but only when the temperatures are warmer or it's a sunny day.

If your pet shows signs of feeling cold, take it back in quickly.

    Tip 2

    Give your pet cozy bedding

Do you tend to cover yourself with layers of blankets, but let your pooch or cat sleep on the ice-cold floor? Not fair.

Getting your pet a cozy bedding will go a long way in keeping it warm and healthy during winters.

Consider getting a raised bed to avoid the cold tiles/concrete, and gift your pet some blankets or a heated pet bed.

Tip 3: Protect your pet from heat sources

Sure, your pet will seek heat during the cold weather, but make sure it doesn't snuggle too close to heat sources like electronic heaters or the fireplace, in order to avoid risk of burns.

    Tips 4,5

Keep your pet well moisturized and hydrated

Moisturization: The dry and cold weather could mess up your pet's skin health. So, regularly apply a good quality, natural moisturizer to its skin to prevent risk of dryness, peeling, and cracks. For one, coconut oil is great.

Hydration: Just because it's cold, doesn't mean you'll reduce your pet's H20 quota. Give it plenty of water during winters to prevent risk of dehydration.
