    What's the story

Our immune system gets activated whenever it senses a pathogen, chemical, or pollen invading the body, triggering a process called inflammation.

While inflammation safeguards us from contracting diseases, sometimes it persists even when you are not threatened by any foreign invader.

That's when it becomes your enemy, starts destroying the system, and causes various chronic ailments.

Eat these anti-inflammatory foods to reduce their consequences.

    Food 1

    Berries

Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries feature anti-inflammatory properties that can mitigate the risk of disease caused by inflammation.

Besides being rich in fiber and minerals, they are also a good source of vitamin C, which can strengthen your immunity and help fight infections.

The phytochemicals present in them help delay cancer progression, as concluded by a research review published back in 2018.

    Food 2

    Nuts like almonds and walnuts

Both almonds and walnuts can reduce inflammation in the body.

The former is loaded with magnesium, yielding favorable effects to curb inflammation as it reduces oxidative stress and cuts down the risk of chronic diseases.

Walnuts, on the other hand, can also keep inflammation under control and are believed to reduce the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

    Food 3

    Virgin olive oil

Virgin olive oil comprises several phenolic compounds that feature potent anti-inflammatory properties.

With that, it is easily one of the best foods to reduce inflammation and chronic inflammation in your body as studies support its efficacy in being so.

A study published revealed that 50 ml of this oil has a similar effect as 10% of an anti-inflammatory drug.

    Food 4

    Tomatoes

Tomatoes exert anti-inflammatory effects on your body as it is packed with lycopene and vitamin C, both of which curb inflammation.

You can add them to your daily diet by consuming them in moderation through salads, soups, juices, smoothies, and more.

Science offers evidence that these red fruits can reduce the risk of inflammatory arthritis and many more inflammation-induced ailments.
