    What's the story

Desserts are a universal favorite irrespective of the ingredients used.

Among all our favourite ingredients for desserts, condensed milk steals the first spot.

Did you know so many of your beloved sweet dishes can be made using condensed milk?

This versatile ingredient is made by evaporating cow's milk and adding sugar.

Check out these soul-endearing melt-in-the-mouth recipes using condensed milk.

    #1

    Caramel squares

Cream together butter and sugar, then add flour and mix.

Press 2/3 of the mixture in a greased baking tray, storing the remaining in the fridge.

Mix condensed milk and melted butter and spread over the baking tray.

Sprinkle chopped nuts and chocolate chips.

Take out the cold flour mixture and crumble it on top. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

    #2

    Hazelnut fudge brownie

Melt dark chocolate and butter together.

Whisk sugar, eggs, flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl. Fold in the melted chocolate.

Pour the batter into a greased tray and bake for 15 minutes.

Cook a mix of hazelnut spread, condensed milk and butter for five minutes, add chocolate and stir.

Pour over brownie in the tray.

    Let it cool and refrigerate.

    #3

    Mango ice cream

Mix together condensed milk, fresh cream and some mango puree in a large bowl until it is thick.

Let it set in the freezer for about two hours.

Take it out and blend again until the mixture is smooth.

This will ensure your ice cream is smooth and creamy.

Shove it in the freezer to set. Serve chilled with fresh mango pieces for garnish.

    #4

    Eggless vanilla sponge cake

Whisk together butter and condensed milk. Add sugar, vinegar, vanilla essence and some milk and mix well.

Add flour, baking powder and baking soda and fold it in gently.

In a greased and dusted baking mould, pour the batter and bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

If a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, it is ready.

    #5

    Condensed milk truffles

Blend some digestive biscuits and add cocoa powder and desiccated coconut.

Making a well in the centre of this mixture, pour condensed milk and mix well.

Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Take the cold mixture out and make little balls and coat them with desiccated coconut evenly.

The truffles can be stored in the fridge for a week.
