    Aminder Singh, founder of Team Aminder, an online training platform, shares five essential guidelines to help you develop a positive body image while working out.

    Tip 1

    The key is to set realistic goals all the time

    While having lofty goals is normal, it's important to keep your expectations grounded in reality.

    "If unrealistic goals aren't attained as rapidly as anticipated, they may cause irritation and a bad self-perception. Instead, concentrate on establishing realistic goals that fit your lifestyle and physical capabilities," shares Singh.

    He also urges you to celebrate minor wins, short progress, and small positive changes to stay motivated.

    Tip 2

    Create a supportive cultural environment

    It is essential to surround yourself with supportive and positive cultural influences while working out.

    "Remember that aiming to be an average version of yourself is far more meaningful than following society conventions in a world where false beauty standards are pervasive," enlightens the Team Aminder founder.

    "Accept variation and value individuality. Choose groups and people who inspire and empower you," he adds.

    Positivity starts with you

    "A good body image starts with having a positive outlook. Stop being so fixated on the results and start appreciating the journey," inspires Singh.

    He says that any progress is a process and the finish line is just one stop on the journey.

    "Everyone's journey is different and it's normal to face hurdles. A cheerful outlook promotes a better body-mind connection," he mentions.

    Tip 4

    Seek guidance from those qualified and professional

    A professional can assist you in developing a comprehensive and long-lasting fitness program that fits your needs and physical profile.

    "They may also help you celebrate your successes, no matter how minor, and shift your attention from your poor self-perception to the constructive changes you are implementing.

    So instead of following random videos about fitness on YouTube, consult a professional.

    Tip 5

    Practice self-accountability and self-appreciation

    "Developing a positive body image requires taking responsibility for your actions. Be gentle and understanding as you hold yourself accountable for your decisions and deeds," states Singh.

    He further says that one should keep in mind that everyone's circumstances and starting places are different, so avoid comparing your journey to others.

    "Put your attention on how you have improved over the past," he concludes.
