    What's the story

A Chinese family of eight has opted for an unconventional living arrangement, residing in a luxurious hotel suite in Nanyang, Henan province, for 229 days and counting!

Paying a daily rate of ¥1,000 ($140 or Rs. 11,624), the family finds this lifestyle both convenient and cost-effective.

Family member Mu Xue shared that they are content with their current living situation and have no intention of moving out anytime soon.

    Details

Hotel suite becomes home for the family

The hotel suite occupied by the family features a living room and two adjoining twin rooms.

A trending video showcases the living area furnished with a TV, sofas, chairs, tables, and everyday essentials such as clothing, food, and water.

Mu Xue mentioned that the hotel offered them a long-term rental rate (¥1,000 per day), allowing all eight family members to live comfortably in the suite.

    Information

The price of the room is all-inclusive

The family does not have to pay additional costs for parking, heating, water, electricity, or other utilities because the room rate includes all of these. According to reports, they have also sold their apartment to infinitely move into this swanky hotel.

    What Next?

    Financial stability supports hotel life

In another video, Mu Xue disclosed that her family owns six properties and is financially stable.

Screenshots revealed several deposits made by her, including amounts of ¥100,000, ¥35,500, and ¥50,000.

For comparison, the average monthly rent for a two-room apartment in Shanghai is ¥20,000, according to the Chinese real estate information platform Anjuke.

    Insights

    Mixed reactions on social media

This unique living arrangement has sparked lively debates on Chinese social media platforms.

While some users admire the family's choice, others question its practicality.

One commenter noted that as long as the family is happy, it's acceptable. Another expressed a wish to live in a hotel if they had the means.

However, some users found the concept of eight people sharing a hotel suite to be uncomfortable or even absurd.
