    What's the story

Although Ayurveda came into existence more than 5,000 years ago, its principles, healing practices, and natural remedies still stand the test of time.

Even today, several people young and old follow a routine involving various Ayurvedic habits from the era bygone that help their minds and bodies thrive.

Here are some of them that even you can incorporate into your daily lifestyle.

    Habit 1

    Oil pulling

A traditional Ayurvedic practice that supports oral health by removing toxins from the mouth, oil pulling is still a part of many people's dental care routine.

Take a tablespoon of coconut, sesame, or olive oil and swish it around your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes. Later, spit the oil into a bin.

Find out the method, benefits, and the science behind oil pulling.

    Habit 2

Consuming ghee on an empty stomach

In Ayurveda, consuming a tablespoon of ghee in the morning on an empty stomach fosters detoxification of your system and kickstarts your metabolism.

Doing this is also believed to improve digestion, enhance skin and hair health, boost immunity, promote brain health, and increase energy levels.

Ghee is a rich source of healthy fats, calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, E, and K.

    Habit 3

    Consuming triphala at night

Ayurveda has it that triphala helps balance the three doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha) in your body, thereby offering you stellar digestive benefits and promoting internal detoxification.

It also aids in weight loss, protects from stress, offers relief from diabetes, manages arthritis, and keeps you away from experiencing hair-related issues.

It can also help ward off many skin ailments.

    Habit 4

    Sleeping by 10:00 pm

According to Ayurveda, the best time to wake up is before sunrise and sleep before 10:00 pm when the kapha period begins in our body.

The hours between 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm are when our body feels dull, tired, and naturally less on energy.

To to this, make sure you finish your dinner by sunset and turn off your gadgets by 8:00 pm.
