19-year-old boy killed on train by a lynch mob
What's the story
Another young life became a casualty at the hands of a lynch mob while aboard a train.
19-year-old Junaid was stabbed to death, while 2 of his brothers and a friend were wounded.
A group of men had boarded the train and started attacking Junaid because he ate meat, claimed the dead boy's father.
The mob threw the four off the train.

According to the FIR filed by the brothers of the deceased, a group of people had boarded the train from Okhla and had asked them to vacate their seats.
The argument became communal, with the Muslim family being allegedly called "anti-nationals" and "beef eaters".
The mob then threw their skull caps on the floor, grabbed their beards, and taunted them with abuses.

Police and railway officials didn't help: Victims
The victims said that the incident took place in the presence of Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel at Haryana's Ballabgarh Railway Station.
Mohsin, one among the survivors, said that they even tried pulling the emergency chain, but the train did not stop.
He said the railway policemen on the emergency helpline did not respond to their pleas for help either.

Naidu condemns the attack
Union minister Venkaiah Naidu condemned the incident and said: "No one should take the law into their own hands. Even if there was a rumor, no one has the right to do this. The agencies should look into it and see who are behind this".

Police denies communal overtones to the incident
While the victims said they were beaten over beef, Haryana director general of police BS Sandhu denied their claims.
He said the incident didn't happen over an argument regarding beef.
He said it was a clash "between two groups which resulted in the death of one person" and that police had begun investigations.
