    What's the story

The Ministries of Women & Child Development and Labour & Employment will jointly host "Women in the Workforce for Viksit Bharat" at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on January 31.

The event will introduce a Ministry of Labour and Employment advisory, urging gender equality and increased women's workforce participation for empowerment, marking a pivotal step in shaping the future of women's engagement in India's workforce.

The event will be chaired by the Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Minority Affairs, Smriti Zubin Irani and the Union Minister for Labour & Employment, Environment, Bhupender Yadav, in the presence of Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of AYUSH, and Rameswar Teli, Minister of State in Ministry of Labour & Employment.

The event will unveil a Ministry of Labour and Employment advisory promoting gender equality and women's workforce participation, enhancing women's empowerment.

Additionally, advisories from the Ministries of Housing and Urban Affairs and Road Transport and Highways focus on women's participation and safety in the building, construction, and highways sectors.

These initiatives underscore the commitment to fostering a conducive environment for women in various sectors.

    Protocols

The Indian government actively promotes women's workforce participation through education and skill development initiatives, according to Press Information Bureau.

This event represents a significant stride in acknowledging the vital role of quality childcare.

It emphasizes the expansion of Anganwadi cum Crèches (AWCCs) under the Palna sub-component of Mission Shakti, ensuring high-quality facilities for children, including nutrition, health, cognitive development, growth monitoring, immunization, and education.

    Creches support

    Angwanwadi demands

To address the needs of children aged six months to six years, AWCCs focus on delivering top-tier crèche facilities, including nutritional support, health, cognitive development, growth monitoring, immunization, and education.

In response to this, the Ministry has crafted the National Minimum Standards and Protocol for Crèches (Operation and Management), guiding a diverse range of entities mandated by various acts and rules.

Anticipated as a transformative step, this initiative is poised to revolutionize female labor force participation in the upcoming decades.

The "Standards and Protocol" emphasize the standardization and institutionalization of the care economy, making a substantial contribution to the vision of "Women-led Development."

Aligned with the broader goal of promoting and supporting the Care Sector, it strengthens the commitment to a self-reliant and empowered nation.
