    What's the story

The dates for JEE Mains exam 2019 have been announced.

The JEE Main-1 exam will be conducted from January 6 to 20, 2019, and the exam dates for JEE Mains-2 are April 6 to 20, 2019.

JEE is one of the toughest exams of India, and preparing thoroughly is the key to success.

Here are 7 tips to help you crack JEE 2019.

    Syllabus, Pattern

Go thoroughly through the syllabus; mind the exam pattern

Syllabus: The JEE syllabus is different from the CBSE course. A lot of topics are advanced levels, and a good grasp over concepts is imperative. One must go through the JEE exam syllabus at the very start of their preparation.

Pattern: Students must understand the exams pattern. For this, reference from mock tests and past years' papers is a must.

    Scheduling, Notes

Do prepare a strict study schedule; maintain study notes

Scheduling: Prepare a timetable that suits your needs, and more importantly, stick to it- day in and day out. This will help provide a set path to your preparation. Do take regular breaks as well.

Notes: Don't skip maintaining notes. It'll help you grasp complex formulae and concepts better. Further, they'll come handy at the time of revision, and will save you time.

    Practice

Practise mock tests and past years' papers

Past years' papers: To get the best idea about the exam pattern, difficulty level, question framing, and time distribution, start analyzing and solving past years' question papers.

Mock tests: Take online mock tests to understand the various nuances of the computer-based JEE exam. Additionally, it'll help you brush off the nervousness, if you're appearing for the exam for the first time.

    Revision, Relaxation

Make enough time for revision and for relaxation (too!)

Revision: Quite obviously, to be able to retain what you've learned over the months, revision comes into play. Put aside atleast 2 months exclusively for revision purpose.

Relaxation: Many students ignore this vital part of preparation. Make sure to get your daily dose of sound sleep. Take naps, when needed. Also, try relaxing activities like listening to music, meditation etc.
