    What's the story

Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy endorsed women's entry into Kerala's Sabarimala Temple, attacking those opposing the Supreme Court's verdict on the issue.

He emphasized it is wrong to go against SC's verdict, which allowed the entry of women of menstruating age inside the temple premises.

"The Supreme Court has made a decision, but now you (protesters) are saying that it's our tradition," Swamy said.

    A fight

It is a fight between Hindu Renaissance and Obscurantism: Swamy

"It's a fight between Hindu Renaissance and Obscurantism. Renaissance says all Hindus are equal," Swamy said, adding, "There is no such thing as God-given tradition. Tradition is what people have been saying for years."

Comparing India's Constitution to Shastras, he said, "There is a code of behavior, for which there are 'Shastras' and now we have a Constitution which is our Shastras."

    Details

Morality worship is a fundamental right, says Swamy

"According to the constitution's Article 14, read with morality condition of Article 25, it is said that subject to morality worship is a fundamental right. Hence Supreme Court has given a verdict and now it should be implemented," Swamy said.

He added it was the job of the state to implement SC's verdict and it should seek Center's help if it can't implement it.
