    Indian Railways: Here's how you can place journey-related complaints on-the-go

    What's the story

    More often than not, Indian Railways passengers are met with sanitation, technical and other issues during train journeys. The Railways also gets plenty of complaints in this regard on a regular basis.

    And, in order to deal with such complaints, the national transporter has now come up with a new service called Coach Mitra facility.

    Here's all about it.

    About the 'Coach Mitra' service

    Coach Mitra or Clean My Coach scheme is a single-window passenger support platform that allows them to place journey-related complaints on-the-go either via SMS, or through a designated app or website.

    Using the service, one can place complaints with regard to issues in facilities like watering, cleaning, disinfection, lighting, repairs, toilet cleaning, linen, among others.

    Notably, the service is now available in 2,167 trains.

    Steps

    Procedure to place a complaint via SMS

    To place a complaint via SMS, type CLEAN (space) Your 10-digit PNR number (space) Service code, and send it to 58888 or 9200003232 between 6 am and 10 pm.

    The service codes are as follows: 'C' for Cleaning, 'W' for Watering, 'P' for Disinfection/Pest Control, 'B' for Linen/Bedroll, 'E' for Train Lighting/AC, and 'R' for Petty Repairs.

    Apart from the SMS mode, you can also register your complaint via the Coach Mitra website. On the website, enter your PNR number, mobile number, service type, and click on 'Send Request' button. Or you can also install the Coach Mitra Android app.
